Bringing nuanced conversation into stigmatized or taboo topics is one of the primary objectives of my podcast, so what better way to explore that than by unfolding the humanity of a teenage pregnancy #🤰
On the third episode of my podcast, I had the honor to speak with the owner and proprietor of Simple Modern Therapy, Heather Holmgren, about her experience getting pregnant and having a baby at age 16.
Though this event was meant to be shameful, and derail her life and ambitions, she found a way to find meaning in the experience, and to embrace it as a beautiful part of herself and her journey.
Her thoughts regarding this topic, her subsequent marriage & divorce, and 2nd marriage and mid-life in general are salient and prescient.
As a marriage and family therapist who has allowed herself to experience and witness a wide spectrum of life’s experience, she not only brings wisdom in spades, but her ability to parse these concepts, woven with story, revealing who she is along the way, is a gift for us, and I’m grateful to call her friend.
Heather has been immensely helpful and supportive of this podcast, these 24… TWENTY-FOUR 5-star reviews are in large part due to Heather getting in there like a little truffle pig hunting the soil for them.
I know from the nascent podcast I’m able to juxtapose my own with, this level of support and the numbers my podcast is getting are unheard of for a podcast that has not even been live for a month from an unknown person!!
Your support has meant the world to me, Heather and YOU!
Thank you again to Heather, who is anything but a truffle pig in her supreme coolness and enlightenment; but may we all be truffle pigs down there in the dirt when it comes to our dreams and so it is Amen!
